We prioritize God by dedicating the first 10% of our income to Him. This supports the church's operating budget and ensures our facilities remain functional and open.

Good stuff happens when we come close to Jesus.

Now after some days, when he returned to Capernaum, the news spread that he was at home. So many gathered that there was no longer any room, not even by the door, and he preached the word to them. Some people came bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. When they were not able to bring him in because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Jesus. Then, after tearing it out, they lowered the stretcher the paralytic was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the experts in the law were sitting there, turning these things over in their minds: “Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Now immediately, when Jesus realized in his spirit that they were contemplating such thoughts, he said to them, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up, take your stretcher, and walk’?&nbsp;But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,”—he said to the paralytic— “I tell you, stand up, take your stretcher, and go home.” And immediately the man stood up, took his stretcher, and went out in front of them all. They were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

Their question said: You can't do that.

When the experts in the law and the Pharisees saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

When Jesus heard this he said to them, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”&nbsp;

Their question said: You shouldn't do that.

Now John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. So they came to Jesus and said, “Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”

Their question said: You should be doing this.

Jesus was going through the grain fields on a Sabbath, and his disciples began to pick some heads of wheat as they made their way. So the Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is against the law on the Sabbath?”&nbsp;

Their question said: You're doing it wrong.

Ultimately, their questions say: We are Lord and you are not.

No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; otherwise, the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and the tear becomes worse. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins; otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins will be destroyed. Instead new wine is poured into new wineskins.”&nbsp;

Jesus is preeminent. preeminent- being superior, surpassing, or above all others in rank, importance, or quality. It refers to someone or something that holds the highest position or is distinguished in a particular way.

For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.&nbsp;

“The Father has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, Jesus, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”&nbsp; “For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.”&nbsp;

1&nbsp;And when he returned to&nbsp;Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home.&nbsp;2&nbsp;And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them.&nbsp;3&nbsp;And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men.&nbsp;4&nbsp;And when they could not get near him because of the crowd,&nbsp;they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay.&nbsp;5&nbsp;And when Jesus&nbsp;saw their faith, he said to the paralytic,&nbsp;“Son,&nbsp;your sins are forgiven.”&nbsp;6&nbsp;Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts,&nbsp;7&nbsp;“Why does this man speak like that?&nbsp;He is blaspheming!&nbsp;Who can forgive sins but God alone?”&nbsp;8&nbsp;And immediately Jesus,&nbsp;perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them,&nbsp;“Why do you question these things in your hearts?&nbsp;9&nbsp;Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’?&nbsp;10&nbsp;But that you may know that&nbsp;the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic—&nbsp;11&nbsp;“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.”&nbsp;12&nbsp;And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and&nbsp;glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

Jesus.&nbsp;Lord.&nbsp;&nbsp;Healer.&nbsp;Friend of Sinners.&nbsp;

Preeminence:&nbsp;“Surpassing all others, in all ways, supreme, better than all others in a significant way or for a significant reason.”&nbsp;

17 And Jesus is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything Jesus might be preeminent.&nbsp;&nbsp;

9 Therefore, God also has highly exalted Jesus and given Him the name, which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, 11 and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Where is Jesus asking you to trust him as Lord?&nbsp;

7&nbsp;“Why does this man speak like that?&nbsp;He is blaspheming!&nbsp;Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

16&nbsp;&nbsp;“Why does he eat&nbsp;with tax collectors and sinners?”&nbsp;

18&nbsp;“Why do John's disciples and&nbsp;the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?”

24&nbsp; “Look,&nbsp;why are they doing&nbsp;what is not lawful on the Sabbath?”

&nbsp;6&nbsp;The Pharisees went out and immediately&nbsp;held counsel with&nbsp;the Herodians against him, how to destroy him.

21&nbsp;No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the patch tears away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear is made.&nbsp;22&nbsp;And no one puts new wine into old&nbsp;wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins—and the wine is destroyed, and so are the skins. But new wine is for fresh wineskins.”

"The single most common attribute of crowds in Mark is that they obstruct access to Jesus. Thus, despite Jesus’ popularity, crowds are not a measure of success in Mark. They constitute “outsiders” who stand either in ambivalence or opposition to Jesus." -J.R. EDWARDS
